Joyce Echaquan was an Atikamekw woman who died on September 28, 2020 in the Centre hospitalier de Lanaudière in Joliette, Quebec, Canada. Before her death, she recorded a Facebook Live video that showed her asking for medical help in distress while healthcare workers abusing her with racial slurs, where she tragically lost her life to a system that failed her.
